MFD Install Guide - Thanks to Jon for the info
A nice little upgrade for the Octavia I is the addition of an MFD OEM Satellite Navigation Head Unit.
They appear to be readily available from various eBay sellers for around £300 including GPS antenna and Plug & Play wiring loom. Some sellers that have been used and reported to be ok are -

Method
You should disconnect the negative lead from your battery before commencing this job.
Firstly you need to remove the large outer trim that surrounds the radio and other switchgear. This can be done by gently pulling from under the lower section above the ashtray and levering with a trim removal tool or similar.
Now remove the existing head unit from the dashboard and place to one side.
Remove the lower storage tray and place to one side.
Install the GPS antenna and cabling to your chosen location, this can be mounted under the dash on the metal cross member or on top of the dashboard.
Connect the Plug & Play wiring loom to the car ISO loom.
Push the AM/FM antenna connector and GPS antenna connector into place and then carefully connect the ISO connectors and the MFD Media connector.
Insert the MFD Unit into the dash taking care not to squash any cabling behind it, you can remove the glove box to aid the placing of the cabling as it is very tight behind the unit.
Reconnect the battery negative lead.
Switch on the MFD Unit and insert the four digit security code. You should now have a working MFD Navigation Unit fitted to your car.

Coding the car using VAG-COM
When installing the MFD into a car not previously equipped with an MFD you will need to recode the CAN Gateway, Radio and your new Navigation Controller. Before changing the coding of any controller it is essential that you make a note of the original coding of that unit.

MFD Tips & Tricks
Wondering what version of the Navigation CD you have in your MFD?
1. Take the cd out of the MFD
2. Mount in a windows operating system
3. Browse the root of the CD
4. Look for a file called INFO.TXT
5. Open the file in wordpad/notepad
Look for the line at the top which for a 2004 disk would read - Project-Name: TAN Great Britain 2003/2004 DX
